Subject: Rain makes grain.....

South central, Nebraska

LOL

The markets don't seem to be connected to the current harvest and planting delays do they? I know there are not delays everywhere but there seems to be a significant area of good yielding crops that are getting farther behind an already late starting harvest season.

We had receive over 8" of rain in the last couple weeks. The ground handled about 6" OK but was saturated at that point. 6" to 8" caused some long term water ponds and now we are sitting  in a winter storm area with close to another 2" of rain now turning over to snow tonight.

This current storm system might have just turned a less than ideal harvest situation into a very messy, damaging harvest situation.

I was going to hose off some of the mud that splashed on the sides of the combine but have reconsidered that and am thinking I could spend my time better elsewhere!

Be careful out there........
