I had a conversation with a financial consultant yesterday, and I asked his perspective on how much this financial mess will filter down to the farm level.

His response and perspective:

- smaller local banks who have deposits from people in the local community and who make loans into the local community are going to be okay, generally-speaking.

- he would be more concerned about the large banks who reach across broad regions.  These would be the ones he would be more concerned about.

Realize, he is not " a banker"; however, I thought his perspective was interesting.
