Subject: RE: Applying turkey Litter?

That is a great question. I don't have a definitive answer, but I have tried it a lot of different ways. I will be happy to share my yield information (once I get the crop off) from a field I worked Turkey manure in right away this Spring versus fields that were applied throughout the winter. So far, the worked in manure appears to be doing quite well. I usually try to get it applied as close to Corn planting as possible while still keeping my sanity.

If this is the first year you have applied manure, don't expect miracles. My observations tell me that multiple year applications seem to pay the biggest dividends. I know, "collective duh." I am currently trying to figure out how I can make my Turkey manure my sole form of nutrients. I haven't figured that out yet, or I should say that I don't want to experiment too much with the current value of crops by skimping on nitrogen.
