| Yes, they contracted with FW to build that for them. And to FW's credit, they have tried several times to get Claas to let them distribute a FODD so that other companies can access the data w/o running it through the FW software. They almost had them there, and then there was a management change at Claas. As I understand it, Claas doesn't really care that much about opening access up in North America, but they are concerned that someone could add functionality to a European application that would let them compete against a very powerful precision ag software package that they sell in Europe. As is, if you run Class PA equipment in Europe, you have to purchase/use the Claas software. Then name of the package escapes me right now. I think it was a popular package and Claas bought the company a few years ago. Could be all wet on that. |
