I do not believe you can use a "fast-close" valve as a simple on-off valve. I believe Ted Thisius had explained this in detail earlier this yr. Maybe he'll comment on it again.

I believe Ted is also knowledgable on voltage readings to control valves. He may be in the field now however.

Again, have you tried a call to Raven company? Good people there. I've never had them not take a phone call.
