| He has a small cow herd and I've sold him a load of grass hay. Headed to where I was going today to load and called to see if he could take the load. Didn't get a reply in time so I went ahead and finished up on about a half load of first cut alfalfa and finished it out with some grass bales to come home. Well, about the time we were 3/4's loaded he calls. We visit a little and he says, yeah, he could take the load, I said well, do you want 1/3 load of Alfalfa with it? He asks the price, and I tell him $83 a bale is what it's costing me, ($100/ton) plus $5 a bale , plus freight with the rest of the load. He says, "Man, that's just way to high." I say "Well, with DDG's at $172/ton, and I've gotta go 70 miles one way to get em, it looks like a steal to me!" Don't remember what was said after that, but I lightened the mood up and made arrangements to get him his load of grass next week.
