Subject: Re: SRWW into corn stubble

South Georgia
Well, Carl, I'm no authority, but we notilled wheat behind corn last year, and had about the same yields as everybody else I heard around. Didn't set any records, either positive or negative. I'd like to try a v-ripper ahead of the drill, but we don't have one, and don't know of one close by that's available. I think I've mentioned to you before, that I can definately tell in the mature wheat where last year's row was, so I would like to try to rip. Don't know yet what we'll plant wheat behind, anyway. Before we bought our no-till drill, we harrowed all our wheat ground twice, and planted with a Deere 8300 single disc drill.

Our dirt's not as sandy as yours is over that way, so things may not work the same over there as here.
