Baldwin City, KS | We always seem to have the eye problems with the black calves and the whitefaces are fine. Just what we see here. Totally opposite of my previous mind set before I had my own baldy calves. At the market we primarily sell in, I think something that shows a little cross on black hide sells just as good if not a hair better. Like I said, I am a commercial cow guy with no agenda other than to raise as many pounds of beef as I can and get the best price I can for it at the market. We just thought those baldy calves were pretty cool and are tempted to get one or two more herfy's before fall.
In regards to my neighbor with the hereford comment, he is a total character and great guy, just liable to say anything, anytime. I think the comment was made at some mineral sales meeting. | |
