had 8 calves before and during the big blizzard on feb 1st. Been keeping an eye on them and saw them all yesterday, everything seemed okay, but I didnt look real close. This morning I noticed one ole cow bawling and she had a full udder. Found calf, he seemed pretty week, but he followed cow and walked. He would not nurse, but would nudge the udder some (no scours). Called vet, he said 1cc draxin. Gave shot at 10:30 and went back at 2:30 to check. Calf now laying on side and very weak. Load him up and take to the vet. Guy looks him over and gives him some kind of energy boost and a warm water tube. Says the draxin is about all I can do(play nurse maid). Maybe drench him with milk replacer. He wasnt real confident in pneumonia. No fever, a tad under normal(slightly). Any other suggestions? Calf is about 21 days old, give or take.
