| I've only done it twice myself. Current dog is 7 years old and previous dog was 14 when he passed. Before that, the job fell on parents or older siblings.
I just put some newspaper down in the entry and he got gated in at night. They'd usually do their business on the paper. During the day or evening I'd just keep an eye on him. After a while you can tell how they act when they need to go. Grab him and head for the door. All of the sudden, one day he's standing by the door, barking or whimpering. Might have to keep an eye on him for a while after that but it doesn't take long to get on to it. That's the way I've done it, right or wrong. | |
