Western Nebraska | We are no-tilling wheat into sprayed CRP. After 20 years or more of no-till allowing the soil to heal and build OM it seems a shame to till it and destroy so many years of progress. We had good luck taking the wheatgrasses out but not as good of luck taking out brome. Wheat yields have actually been better than our long term farmed ground. It really depends on your species composition how difficult it will be to clean up. The earlier in the season you can spray the grass out the better. | |
