| "Here" the spots that had extra green would probably have been on a feeding area where a bit of waste hay had mulched the soil and retained moisture. It's unusually green here for this late in the year. A couple months ago everything was dry and burnt up. I cut some hay in pastures more for a fire guard than anything else to make a safe area around the place and hay corrals and so I could get around easier this winter. The hay was all dried up mature grass at the time. Since then there has been enough rain to make the grass grow again. Cattle are eating the fresh growth like it was candy. | |
