| I believe we are entering another stage in regard to the scramble for resources. Before the smoke clears, I suspect we will, over the next year, see a couple of Russian players engage in an acquisition spree as well as the Chinese. Several Middle Eastern interests & China have made significant inroads in some ag land areas (Africa comes to mind) & if we take a step back in time to the Gold Rush era, would a person be better off as a prospector/miner or the folks who sold them the supplies? If you control the inputs and have some control in the marketing/user sector, the middle group (producers & land owners) assume most of the risk but lack pricing power. Things are changing. | |
