Mascoutah, Illinois | S.C., is the USDA number released based on conditions prior to August 1? If so, we have a tale of three entities doing battle since August 1. We have the garden conditions in the northern belt, some massive flooding in portions of the central belt, and the mini-drought in the southern belt. I believe there are more acres in the getting smaller camp through the first 13 days of August. Combines will roll earlier than normal in the southern belt due to the excessive heat. We are finishing so fast here it is amazing. I believe we have had at least eight days with heat indices over 110 and three or four times we were pushing 120. The dog days of August have been in full force. What this all adds up to is a looming headache and a number somewhere in the 162-162.5 camp. The reason not to get super bullish is economies imploding with us being the potential leader.
Maybe if we took a blueprint of the German economy, we could get some life in our economy. EWG was a great call in the market. | |
