| This calf has had colostrum from her mom. She is probably at least 2 months old and she still sucks from mom when we get her up. She will drink untill she is full and then go lay down in the hay again. She is getting plenty to drink so I don't think that would be the problem. I tried to get her to suck a bottle for the electrolytes but had no luck so I tubed that down her. I think these electrolytes might be helping just a little bit, but slow. The thing I don't understand is that when we pick her up she don't want to stick her front legs down on the ground. She just keeps her legs bent under herself. The back left leg is the hurt one, not sure why she doesn't use her front legs. Before she got hurt she walked and got around really good. The cow had plenty of milk for the calf. Once we get her up she will walk to mom and suck, but she is pretty shaky. Thanks alot for all the info and suggestions. | |
