Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND | Thanks again plainsman and alange, I took the trimble cable back to the radio/tv repair guy to try another end. when he compared the new plug before assembling it,he found the center pin fit perfectly, but the plastic part was slightly off spec and would not fit in the Trimble antenna socket. The replacement plugs were straight, unlike the original 90 degree plug, but the repair guy found that a 90 degree male/female adapter worked with the oddball plug and the Trimble antenna socket.
alange is correct about the high quality of the original Trimble cable, compared to the aftermarket parts. I did my best with shrink tubing and electrical tape to reinforce the repair plug to near the strength of the original trimble part, but if that cheapy repair causes downtime when I get the rare windless ND spraying day, then the high $$ price the dealer quoted me for an original cable, might look pretty cheap. |
