I have had a couple Evolution 9 inch saws and an 8 inch Milwaukee. They work good unless they don't. One wrong jerk and bade is gone. Some blades last long, some don't. I built a 20 inch abrasive saw about 30 years ago. That would be the ticket for rusty pipe and rod. I had a couple of the 14 inch abrasive saws with flimsy base. I sure don't want another.

Look around, there are some heavy units available.
