Central Nebraska | I was part of an interview about a month ago that will hopefully highlight how the TrimblePTX relationship is supposed to work. I was selected by my dealer because I run a mixed fleet of equipment with Trimble and Precision equipment. Personally, I'm excited about the relationship and I got the impression that their goals are to make their products more accessable to growers and also address some of the data issues in ag. The availability think isn't much a problem for me because my dealer already handles both products but evidently that isn't the norm. The data conversations interested me the most. I've said many times that I'm not a Deere guy but they do have it figured out on the data side where it is relatively easy to share data (maps, prescriptions, guidance lines, etc) between equipment. It is my biggest frustration as a Trimble guy and I expressed that. I'd like to see them figure out how to use the existing connectivity we have in cabs (tablets, phones, hotspots) to share data across platforms. We already have "universal" formats with shape files. |
