Kingston,Mi
Our Family of 6 children and 2 adults road the trains from Sarnia Ont. to Seattle Wa. in August of 1962. Dad wanted to go to the Worlds Fair and my grandparents had moved to Whidby Island in 1957. Could not book a run thru the northern states in time, so Dad booked us on the Canadian National I believe. Went coach for 4 or 5 days. As a youngster at 14 years old it was a great trip. Only a third of it was in the dark. Really like the open wheat country. Dad had agreat time talking to every one who would engage in conversation. On my moms side of the family, many of her second cousins had moved to Saskatchewan and Alberta at the turn of the 20th century. Did not pass thru their towns but close enough to see why they had not returned to eastern Ontario.
