What programs are being used for CAD at the hobbyist 3d printing level?

I'd highly recommend fusion 360. it's free for hobbyists.
This guy's series is short, easy to follow and I picked up enough to make just about any mechanical part i wanted in just a few hours.
Biggest thing with fusion 360, and most other cad programs is that their are so many controls that it take repetition to remember them all. Any single step is pretty easy, but until you do it for a few days/weeks, things won't really stick and it'll feel overwhelming. One day it'll just click though .
