I've been looking for an 8" jointer with a helical carbide cutter head and a long bed.  They aren't plentiful.

I do find them occasionally but they are in Chicago, St. Louis or Minneapolis.  I don't want to go to those places and from both apocryphal and personal experience's people have been ripped off one way or another.

Yet at the same time those are the places most likely to have what I want because of higher populations.

A catch 22. 

No doubt in time what I want will become available OR I'll break down and buy a new one from Grizzly.

Such is the world.
