Macks Creek in Missouri used to be a famous one. it was on one of the Hwys that led to the Lake of the Ozarks and the Capitol of Jeff City. You come down a hill and round a corner and the speed would drop from 60 to 30

They made a lot of money with it, until one day they stopped a Mo state senator and gave him a large ticket. he drove up to the capital and drafted a bill outlawing speed traps in any county with such and such population with so many miles of shoreline. The description fit the county Macks Creek was in to a T. So that was the end of their speed trap
