nw NC | It is easy to tell difference in whether the culprit taking sprouted corn is rodent or bird. Look closely at any tiny corn plant on the ground. If it has two nearly parallel marks about 1/4 inch apart on opposite sides of the tiny stalk, those are marks made from the beak of bird species grasping the plant to pull it out. No beak marks, it was a rodent, skunk or coon. | |
