Ted, thank you for the reply. So I think we may have narrowed it down a little bit, yesterday it was taking forever to engage, well after I fixed the leak I mentioned about an hr after that we had a temperature drop and it cooled off about 10 degrees ambient temp, and the steering started working exactly as it was supposed to. So before I started planting today I made sure to blow all the coolers out. It was roughly the same temp today as when the temp dropped the previous day and low and behold the tractor steered like a dream all day and never missed a beat. Btw all I'm running on the planter is hyd drive, finger meters. This is a new tractor for me also. I have a 8400 that I have planted with that has a JD steering valve in it and has the big hyd pump and I never have had issues with it so this was quite eye opening.
