| Ethernet switches have been around Greenstar for a while. GS3 Machine Sync needed one to allow communication to switch between communication radio and the MTG. Tractors with a Gen 4 had them built in to allow the MTG to communicate with either the Gen 4 armrest or a cornerpost GS3 2630. The use of an ethernet switch with a G5 I have heard so far is because they are switching to a 2 wire ethernet, so it's more of an adapter device. I don't see it as an end for ISObus with displays. Ethernet usage on the tractors will be necessary for autonomy and transmitting all the images from the implement mounted cameras. | |
