Mid MO
Yes, plz get checked out.

Dad got Mom up early one morning spring of 2020. Couldn't go and was terribly uncomfortable. She took him to the emergency room. Long story short stage 4 prostate cancer.

We had trouble getting Dad into the system to be seen. Mom wasn't navigating the phone system well. I had to be there with my mil anyway, so I made the appointment in person. Oncologist was good enough to see us on short notice over his lunch hour. We fibed and said Mom was confused so I could go with them on those first few
appointments. That got us past pandemic protocols. (She was scared and overwhelmed but perfectly in her right mind. Dad can't hear). You should've seen the look the Dr gave me when I came in with Dad. I had seen him the week prior with my mil.

We are fortunate that M.D. Anderson is 40 minutes away.

Chemo and radiation later Dad is with us. He still runs cattle.

Mom and Dad will celebrate 50 years of marriage this June.

Every day is a gift and we are grateful. Just wish he'd taken better care of himself.
