I'm looking to buy a decent desktop.  I'm don't mess with games and etc; I would like to do some work with video creation/manipulation, pictures, accounting, possibly high power GIS software.  I have a failing/failed hard drive I want to attempt to recover so I would also like an extra hard drive bay.  I have my computers networked so would also like to have Win XP/Pro.  I've not kept current on what is available or required for those needs; any suggestions are welcome.

Tis the season of the mad rush to attract sales so do any of you have information on big promotional sales in the next week/month?  Where would you look for bargains?  TIA  Gary
