Subject: V blade plow to kill rye

Roanoke, IN
Anybody use a v blade plow? I hear they used to be popular in the dryland west but are not used much anymore. How much residue can one handle? I'm thinking of using it for killing a cover crop of rye. How good of a job will it do killing a thick stand? Will there be any rerooting issues? How much HP/foot is needed to pull 2-3 in deep? Any suggestions on brands? Just wanting to see if anyone has experience with one of these or any ideas. Thanks
