Subject: grazing downed corn

SE SD
I have a friend that has access to some corn stalks that has a lot of downed corn. He is wanting to know if there is a rule how many ears per sq foot before he has to worry about founder. I have told him to do some strip grazing or limit access and he shouldnt have a problem, he doesnt know if his hired man wants to do that much fencing. 320 acres. If you know of any articles let me know TIA.

Edit: this field was harvested.
