Boyd, WI | A little background. I'm not computer illiterate, but also no 'expert'. Last Tues., installed Hughes Net satellite. Got the modem working good on the desktop. Tried to incorporate the wireless router to use my laptop around the house and outside the office. After literally a few hours on the phone with D-Link Help, got it to work with the desktop only. Lots of numbers, codes, ip addresses, and other things changed. Now I still can't get the router to connect with my laptop.
Was told by the experts from INDIA which I can hardly understand, much less tolerate for a couple hours on the phone, that my laptop is misconfigured and that I should contact Dell to get it fixed. It's an Inspiron that's less than a year old, and I've been online through other wireless networks with no problem in the past. I've hit a dead end, what can I do? Even connecting directly to the router with ethernet cable will not work. Any suggestions please?? Thanks. | |
