Subject: dryland farming

Center,CO
not exactly sure how to ask the right questions here. i am farming irrigated land now, but some of it is going up for sale at a ridiculously high price. if it sells i may enertain the idea of looking at some dryland farming. what are the pros and cons. what would be reasonable rates to pay for rent on dryland. is percentage the usual way to go. would possibly look at some ground in ne colorado. from what i understand 40-50 bu wheat is possible. a real amateur when it comes to looking at something new like this. i do have some of the equipment already. any thoughts and suggestions would be helpful. might be better off to get a government health care job.
