Subject: networks

Dalton, OH
I'm setting up a network for the first time and just wanted some opinions. Ideally I will have three computers hooked up. Two in the house and one in the farm shop about 150 feet away. I just signed up for AT&T DSL also, but I decided not to get their network adapter. Instead I find it easier to go to Staples to setup my network. I looked at all of the network stuff and do I need a G, B, or N network. The N is the most expensive, but I shouldn't have any trouble with the range. Its more expensive, but in the long term will I be better off? Also, the two computers in the house are running windows XP, but the one in the shop is only running windows 98. I see on the recommendations for the N adapter is that the computer is running windows 2000 or above. Can I use a B or G adapter with this computer and it will work? I'm new to all of this so I would appreciate all the help you guys can give me.

Thanks,
Scott(OSU)
