Subject: Fluted snap rolls for new JD corn head!!!

Mitchell, SD
Sorry for the excitement but I’ve been trying to get these for at least 3-4 yrs. We had gotten to the point of buying worn out (shot) fluted rollers from BW welding so we can keep our stalks from blowing off our fields or into windrows that cause planting issues. I do have a couple of questions though:

1. Was it supply chain issues that I couldn’t get them before? Or just lack of anyone wanting them?

2. The guy at BR welding stated that fluted intermeshing would always feed and not plug when they are really worn as compared to opposed in which case they also wore out faster. Anyone share the same experience? Probably doesn’t matter as JD doesn’t have that option…they only come in opposed.

3. Anyone have any unforeseen issues with them that I may not be aware of?

We hope to exchange our never been used 8 blade opposing snap rollers from our C18R heads.

Thanks for your input.
