| This is my first full year with cows, very small herd, and calving kind of snuck up on me. Due to start mid April.
Looking for advice & input on what others do for vaccines with the cows & their calves for the full year. I have been going off the advice of my vet but would like to hear what others do.
I was supposed to give cattlemaster & covexin, 4-6 weeks pre calving. But that time has passed, I am 3 weeks out, so I am wondering if I should still do it or not?
The cows already had both of these pre breeding, and working facilities are not that great in the winter lot, so I am wondering about doing nothing pre calving for the cows and then an optimizer gel for calves at birth and then vaccinating them later on?
If getting the cows vaccinated pre-calving is the best case scenario and important I will get it done, just looking for other options until they are out on pasture where my better working facilities are.
I really appreciate any advice!
