Hastings, Florida | Flew to Las Vegas last week, changed planes in Dallas. As I was sitting in airport waiting on flight, decided I wanted a snack and paper to read. Plane was late, as usual. Went looking for a place to get a few items, and saw something new to me. Usual small store in airport , usual stuff for sale , drinks, snacks, souvenirs, books, etc. But nobody working there, and no self checkout line.Signs telling you automatic payment, no clerks. As you entered, swiped your credit card, picked out items, put them in a bag, and walked out - non stop - through a door frame holding some type of scanner that read the items, and charged your card. Did not even have to slow down when leaving, receipt was offered. I did not try it, but watched about a dozen customers , do just that. Swipe a card, walk in and pick items, put in bag, walk through detector, and that was all. Is this something new, or am I am behind the times ? DFW Adds Cashierless Store Options for Customers
