Carmi, IL | The city is asking to create a easement for a water line. They are asking for 10’ along each side of line along edge of county road 1/4 mile south and 1/4 mile west with a fire hydrant at end of line. There is a current water line with no easement that was installed by past home owners to reach the end of water service. I broke the current line a few years ago plowing and city wants it done correct now.
What should I be asking? Line depth, special requests, financial compensation? What would you want included in the easement?
Please give any advice you feel needed.
