Subject: Protecting Middle of Tire Tank

NW Missouri
I am almost done putting in a 8' tire tank. I'm trying to figure out how much effort to go to in order to protect the drain pipe and electrical conduit against a cow or calf getting in the tank. I could put a single 2x6 or 2x8 across it and screw it to each side like the first pic (electrical could stick up through a hole in the 2x while drain pipe would be directly below it... I could do the same thing, but also add another board across it to make an X so it is stronger. Or I can go with the second pic which would require more cost and time, but would be sturdier. Last option, but the most costly, would be to look for a 7' poly bale ring and just drop it in

This tank doesn't have a float - it's fed by a solar pump so it has an electrical switch. If something ends up inside the tank and breaks the pvc drain pipe, I can replace it without too much trouble. But if the conduit gets broke off it would be a bigger deal to fix.

TIA
