Subject: Early - Early Riser 800 Cyclo question.

It made a Crop

How fast should I run from an 800 cyclo with all steel row unit?

I know the topic has been discussed on here before. (I tried searching for previous posts on the subject with no luck.)  I'm looking at a 12 row 30" to convert into a 15" no-till soybean planter.  What are the problems with the all steel row units?  I figure I can get this thing bought cheap. And It'll still make a good starting point for my project.  Even if I need to replace the steel frame assembly later.

The 1st picture is like the row unit on the Planter I'm looking at.  The second picture is of the updated row unit with the cast disk opener  bracket.

To upgrade to the Cast gauge wheel/disk opener assembly  does the planter unit frame assembly (number 7 in second picture) need to be replaced?
