Subject: Apply 28% + acetachlor/attrex on potentially rough ground - RR Corn

In a normal year (whatever that is) we would spray preplant corn herbicide with some 28% (10-20gpa) on bean stubble, work it with a soil finisher and plant. However, I have one field that was worked with a brent cpc (w/ a leveler) and like many around me the bean stubble ground has no shortage of gulleys where all the water ran this winter. Ideally, I'd work all the ground once, spray, work it again then plant. What I'm thinking is that since I'm using 2 applications of RR, I'm not asking that much of my preplant (hold weeds until we get to 12" corn). The unevenness of the ground will cause the herbicide to vary somewhat in effectiveness, but will it be a disaster? I'm pretty sure the 28% won't care.

My other thought is to spray afterward planting and hope for a timely rain to wash the 28 and herbicide in. It might be safe bet with all the rain we've been having.
Any thoughts,

Pat
