I pulled a very large calf out of a first-calf heifer yesterday. Both survived but the calf is still pretty weak. I can get him to nurse, but it doesn't appear that the heifer is producing a whole lot of milk so i don't know how much he is getting.
Is it possible to make a heifer give more milk?
