Lander, WY | I know there's a few guys on here in northeast Colorado, wondered if you could give some input. I have the chance to buy 134 acres of ground, it's in CRP for 2 more years, pretty heavy grass cover (not the short grass some CRP is). Neighbor is wanting to sell it, and from I've seen listed online, his price is very reasonable. Really, two questions, first, what are you seeing or hearing CRP is selling for? I've seen the listings in the same area, but what ground is priced at and what it sells for is two different things...
Second, I know someone (donuts or someone?) is continuous crop no tilling, and I wonder if I could get some input...I don't know if you could get a wheat stand (or any other crop) notilling into a heavy grass cover, I know some around are having more success with dryland corn with the new hybrids, would a dryland corn be out of the question? Depending on soil type of course...
