southern MN | That would work. As you say if you are flying near and not near anything, you can watch the drone, don’t have to see the screen.
As to cables, shop carefully. Longer cables lose some speed and juice pretty quickly, and some of the cheap cables don’t carry data fast enough. This applies to the Lightening cables more so maybe.
A friend has goggles for his drone, one person can have the tablet, other person can have the googles. That is really, really cool! If you ever get a chance check out the goggles.
