Little River, TX | Anything is possible.
I left Columbus AFB Mississippi, with a little over 100 missions over Vietnam, & formed a training cadre to prepare the Dyess Sac Wing for a unit deployment.
Dyess had some great people and the community was both supportive and pleasant. three years later I was on my way to Loring AFB in far northern Maine. That base was the training base for extra crews to support the War in SEA.
Again the people on the base were top notch and the people in the area were as good as I have found in any part of this fair land. Probably because with the sorry climate there all the twits moved south. On that vain I lasted two years up there before I was shipped down to Fort Worth Texas. I was at Fort Worth 7 years before I got out and came back to farming.
I must say I had a great time in the Air Force, and met a lot of great people, but am having even more fun farming. Guess I really am enjoying the family life that I missed out on during the years in the AF.
Every day is a Great Day, still some days are better than others. | |
