Thanks for the replys. According to what Gunner said, I guess it was trap. He had a thrower strapped to a bench. It threw clay discs out into a field. We had as many as 3 guys shooting. We took turns being the "primary" shooter. The other guys took shots 2 and 3 if the primary guy missed. I know exactly what you mean by focusing on the front sight post. The guy having the party was a Marine as well. We're friends through the Marine Corps League. The only piece of advice he gave me was "don't look at the front sight post, look at the target over the post with both eyes open." Most of the one third that I missed were caused by ignoring this advise. Jdflyer, the shotgun I liked the best was a newer, mostly plastic 20ga. semi auto. That thing was super light and just felt right. The other good one was a 12ga. Mossberg pump. What's most commonly used? I think I may buy a thrower and some discs. I've got a .410. Will that work as well?
