MN | As the other post says the mavic 2 has alot more features, I wish I would have got it instead of just the mavic but even so it's still an awesome drone. As far as I've read the camera on the phantom is better but the average person and what your wanting it for, save your money. I haven't been able to get the follow me mode to work very well on mine, it's supposed to be improved alot on the 2. I have 2 batteries and I haven't seen the need for another one yet, but I'm just doing about the same thing you are wanting to... Video equipment and play around. It's very stable and easy to fly.
