Subject: RE: Tethered drones?

central - east central Minnesota -

I have some friends that just returned from Fire Truck Equipment show in Indianapolis, IN. They saw a booth exhibiting "tethered drones". They didn't stop & ask about them, but did ask me when they got home.

I'm not sure where or why tethered drones would be used.

Anyone have operating knowledge of them?

Thanks

Don't have any operating knowledge of them, just what I ran across that peaked my interest and kind'da forgot to look further. Thanks for bringing it up.

I could see emergency services use of them. They launch them for large fire or accident or hostage type deal. Drone is tethered for power, live pic's of scene and what's going on (think warehouse fire in very heavy industrial area with too close of quarters to get into or see around/in). I can understand the use and concept . . . . seems to be specific use / situation type drone. I look forward to others responses / views and hopefully operating knowledge and uses.
