Amherst WI | I have been looking over university plot data this evening trying to figure out if there is any yield loss by going with a shorter maturity soybean under irrigation so it does not have to be watered as long into the season. So far it seems the short season beans can yield as good as the long season beans but not as consistanly. We plant a .7 to a 2.2 here.
I do think longer season beans work better on dryland because they have a bigger chance to catch a rain at the right time. | |
