| When do you start watering soybeans? Our soybeans are at full bloom right now. Last moisture was 10 days ago. Soil is drying down to around 50% saturation I would estimate. We have typically started watering now or earlier. Most research indicates start watering now as soybeans are entering heaviest water usage. However some newer research indicates about as much benefit to waiting until pods are setting on. Any of you with opinions out there? Crop consultant says wait for pod set, but I see the plants beginning to stress during afternoons of 90+ heat and 20+MPH winds so I am thinking start water. Don't want to waste the high dollar fuel, but with prices, bushels are pretty valuable.
