| We were spraying with our 664 tonight and the engine killed out. It seems like theres a short somewhere. The ignition breaker trips after about 15 seconds with the key on. Radio doesn't work and when it does its just static, no horn, etc... Apparently the fuel shotoff solonoid wasn't getting power even when the ignition breaker hadn't yet tripped. I hotwired it to get it back to the yard. I did a quick check on some of the points i thought a a wire could have wore through. What's the best way to check for a short on something that complex without a wireing schematic? Inspect the wires? Discconnect things and see if that works? Check voltage drops? The main circuit board seems to be fine. No smell or discolor anywhere and I talked to a tech and he agreed it sounded like a short.
Are there fuses or circuit breakers anywhere else besides the circuit board? It seems odd that there isn't a separate one for the radio, cig lighter, A/C clutch, etc..... | |
