Subject: RE: Looking at Strip Tillage

i made the jump from a agsystems bar [which was a blade in front of a mole knife followed by berm builders] to a soilwarrior. i am convinced that to strip-till in cornstalks up here in wc. mn., for corn the next year you have to strip-till in the fall and work the strip again in the spring like the soilwarrior is capable of doing. i like the concept of running that big blade with bits in the fall to run deep and fracture and then put on the two smaller blades in the spring to warm up that strip. i plan on putting all my p&k down in the fall and before i plant, put down 50-75 lbs of urea in the strip and finish off with another 50 lbs 28% with planter or sidedress.
